Special Olympics Bowling

Special Olympics of Manatee County can really use some volunteers for bowling practices which run August 4th to Oct. 20st every Saturday from 1:45 PM until about 4 PM. They take place at the AMF Bradenton Lanes, 4208 Cortez Road, Bradenton FL 34210.

You can choose to work one or several Saturday practices. It's totally up to you. If you wish to volunteer (perhaps with your wife as well), please let me know what afternoon(s) so that we can track our volunteers service hours. I will keep our POC at SOMC (Special Olympics of Manatee County) updated with a signup sheet of your names that I will maintain. You will need to complete, print and sign the attached waiver and bring it with you the 1st Saturday that you participate. Wear your Council shirt (red preferably) and check in with whomever is managing the practice from SOMC.

Although Bowling does not belong to the Olympic sports, it is among the most popular sports in Special Olympics. It is a particularly beneficial sport to people with intellectual disabilities, irrespective of their age or sports abilities, since it ensures physical exercise and at the same time participation and social integration. Plus, it's great fun!
