40 Days for Life is an international, community-based campaign that seeks to end abortion through prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach. It is held twice a year, during Lent and again in the fall, lasting for 40 consecutive days. Participants gather outside abortion facilities and other public places to pray for the protection of the unborn, support mothers in need, and witness to the dignity of human life.
