First Responders Mass​
Each year, Saints Cosmas & Damian Council 13341 hosts a First Responders Mass in the week surrounding September 11th. This year the mass was held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church on Tuesdayevening, September 9th at 6:30 PM with 270 in attendance including Knights, Knights’ wives,parishioners and law enforcement. The Council’s Knights, their wives, priesthood, and parishioners honored the work of all public safety personnel in the community including law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical services, and military personnel. recognizing these brave individuals for their sacrifice, and remembering those who have given their lives in service to their communities. It was also a chance to thank all who presently serve and put their lives on the line every day responding to emergencies in our community. Finally, lest we not forget, we remembered those who sacrificed their lives on Sept 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center selflessly helping others. Several ranking officials were present including the Mayor of Bradenton, the Chief and Assistant Chief of Police, the Chief and Assistant Chief of the Fire Department, Councilmen and women, several police officers, and many others.
