July 25th, members of Knights of Columbus Council 13341 answered the call to serve alongside Special Olympics Florida. Our Knights assisted with athlete registration and check-in, judging competitions and helping with other activities throughout the event.
We were also honored to speak with Jessica Ott of Special Olympics Florida about the important role volunteers play in creating opportunities for athletes to compete, build confidence, experience joy and form lasting friendships.
Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training, competition, health programs and leadership opportunities for more than 85,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state—all at no cost to the athletes or their families.
Our council is proud to support Special Olympics Florida approximately once each month. Whether we are checking in athletes, presenting awards, judging competitions or helping wherever needed, our goal is always the same: to serve with faith, compassion and respect.
Thank you to Jessica, the Special Olympics Florida team, the athletes, families and volunteers who continue building a more welcoming and inclusive community.
