Car Show
The 6th Annual Car Show/ Cookout was held at O.L.A. on 11/2/24. The show featured 120 show cars and numerous vendors. The designated charity for the event was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Multiple planning meetings were held to organize the event. Approximately 2000 flyers were distributed at nearly two dozen local car shows to promote the event. Social media and news media outlets were also used to promote the event. A team of Brothers solicited and acquired approximately 50 donations used for door prizes, and numerous sponsorships and advertisements for the event program booklet.
Team leaders were designated for various functions such as Parking, Food Services, etc. A total of forty-six (46) Brother Knights and an additional five (5) significant others volunteered throughout the process from start to finish. Despite overall attendance being less than normal due to recent hurricanes and overall devastating damage to the area, this year’s event was one of the most successful to date.
Food cooked and served. 50/50 raffled tickets sold. Trophies presented to “Top 3” and “Fan Favorite” winners. Music/ DJ services provided. Photos of event taken. Knights of Columbus information/ recruitment table staffed throughout the event.
Due to the efforts of all a net amount of $9,599.30 was raised from the event. That amount, supplemented with a donation from Council #13341, enabled our council to donate $10,000.00 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
