Ed Smith Concession Stand
Since 2008, Council #13341 has operated food concession stands for the Baltimore Orioles preseason home games. The stands are located at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, FL. 16 games were scheduled from February 2024 through March 2024. Operations included retail sales of food items, food preparation, grills and deep fryers, inventory management, and personnel staffing for all positions. Compensation is made at the end of the preseason and is 10% of the net revenue plus tips.
This year, we operated two concession stands—one on the main level (192) along the left field line. The second concession stand was in the left-side outfield area (Section 127-128), also known as the Patio Concession Stand. We have operated the 192 stand for many years. This was the third year we staffed the Patio stand. Knight volunteers staffed the entire 192 stand. The Patio stand was staffed by ½ Knight volunteers and ½ stadium staff. We had a good mixture of seasoned volunteers as well as first-timers.
